In October 2007, the Supreme Council for Energy adopted a strategy for energy supply and use, which comprehensively integrates the main policies and measures that could meet the longer term challenges facing the national energy industry. The strategy confirms the ongoing activities, adding to them nuclear power generation from Dabaa station, which have the position in the north west coast of  Egypt.

Dabaa synoptic station with WMO No. 62309 lie at Latitude 30° 56 58 and longitude 28° 26 41 working 24 hours/day from 7th Dec.1947 at now. We use the hourly data for Dabaa station form 1 Jun. 1981 to 31 Dec. 2011 .

Dabaa area has the same climate of Mediterranean sea , properties of the Mediterranean coast moderate temperature all the year, high Relative Humidity and highest annual mean of rainfall comparing to others area.

The mean wind dirction are between West direction (W) (247.5o–292.5o) with percentage 23.6% and North West direction (NS) (292.5o–373.5o) with percentage 27.6%. The percentage of calm wind is 3%. The percentage of mean wind speed between (1.5-4.5 m/s) 6-18Km/h  is 49.1% , The percentage of mean wind speed between (4.5-7.0 m/s) 18-28Km/h is 22.3% and the percentage of mean gust wind between (11.0-14.0 m/s) 44-56Km/h is 0.5%.

Observed changes in climate parameters have a number of consequences. The decrease in atmospheric pressure implies decreases in the number of misty days in decade three, and the turbidity of the atmosphere. Recently, Dabaa has been suffering from an increased severity , frequency of Thunder storms and increase in the amount of annual rainfall during the last three decades.
